The Beelink GTR9 is a MiniPC a little wider than the usual models of the brand. 16.8 cm wide for 12 cm deep and 3.9 cm thick. Enough to accommodate the cooling necessary for its processor, a Ryzen 9 5900HX given for 45+ Watts of TDP and which can reach in practice peaks at 54 Watts.
It was therefore necessary to compose a dissipation adapted to the size of this processor and this involves the use of two fans in extraction to absorb the heat of the machine. In general, dual dissipation systems share the work on two components that heat up. Processor and graphics circuit for example. On the Beelink GTR9, there is only one chip to cool since the graphics part is integrated in the Ryzen.
The solution was to use two heatpipes of 5 mm each to absorb the heat of the processor. Two fans take care of the cooling via fins that extract the heat that will be pushed outwards. The fact of doubling the system will prevent perhaps a too important blower, the mark promises on its side a relatively silent use of the machine.
So you can make the most of this impressive processor that is the Ryzen 9 5900HX. A chip that has started to invade the MiniPC market with solutions from Minisforum and Moresfine. The processor, engraved in 7 nanometers, embeds 8 Zen 3 cores and 16 threads on frequencies ranging from 3.3 to 4.6 GHz. It offers 20 MB of cache memory and a Radeon Vega 8 graphics circuit operating at 2.1 GHz. A muscular solution that is accompanied by two slots of dual channel SoDIMM DDR4-3200 Mhz RAM for a maximum of 64 GB.
The whole chassis is built in metal with many mesh areas to ventilate the components. The case can be used flat or mounted in VESA mode on the stand of your choice.
The Beelink GTR9’s storage is entrusted to a dual solution. First of all, a double M.2 2280 slot that will host a PCIe NVMe solution for the first one and a SATA 3.0 module for the second one. This storage base will also be able to be completed by a SATA 3.0 storage thanks to the 2.5″ bay present at the bottom of the chassis.
The connectivity is very good as often with the brand. On the front we find a USB 3.0 port, a USB Type-C offering data and video output, a 3.5 mm combo jack and two microphones in addition to the start button.
On the rear side, there are two additional USB 3.0 ports along with two USB 2.0 ports. Two separate 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports driven by a Realtek RTL8125BG solution, an HDMI output and a DisplayPort output. A Wifi6 and Bluetooth 5.0 module is also present. Note on the upper part of the chassis the presence of an integrated fingerprint reader to easily unlock the machine.
The Beelink GTR9 is given as compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 11 since it offers the necessary TPM management but also with Linux by ensuring Ubuntu and Manjaro compatibility.
