BMAX B5

I found a low-power MINI PC in the official BMAX website today that basically meets daily use, model number: BMAX B5. This device surprised me because its processor looks like six years old, an Intel Core i5-5250U. However, such a configuration still doesn’t seem outdated even today. My guess is that maybe there is a real shortage of chips in the tech market at the moment, otherwise, new products would not use outdated chips.

The BMAX MaxMini B5 mini PC measures 280 x 156 x 72 mm, with a metal case and a prominent brand logo on it. Overall, it has 8GB of RAM, which is more than enough for web browsing, watching videos, and basic office work. However, if you want to use it for image processing, video editing, then the BMAX B5 will feel overwhelmed.

The BMAX B5 MINI PC is equipped with an Intel Core i5-5250U dual-core processor, 14nm manufacturing, 4 threads, reaching 2.7Ghz in turbo mode, and an Intel HD6000 GPU, 48EU, capable of playing 4K resolution video at 60fps. 8GB of RAM memory, including an M.2 2280 256GB capacity SSD, which can be replaced with another one.

In terms of networking, its internal antenna is dual-band Wifi aC, Bluetooth 4.2 and an RJ45 Gigabit network port. Connectivity ports are a 3.5mm audio jack, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0, HDMI video out port, a mini DisplayPort and a USB Type-C for data and video.
