DOOGEE S88 Plus
Global Bands / IP68&IP69K Waterproof / 6.3 inch FHD+ NFC / 10000mAh Super Battery
After Doogee S88 Pro launched at the beginning of last summer, the Chinese company expands the family of rugged-phones with a new model “enhanced” especially in memory and photography. Doogee S88 Plus in fact shares much of the design and features of the “Pro” version but, as its name indicates, adds something more: it integrates 8GB of RAM (versus 6GB) and a triple-camera driven by a 48MP + 8MP + 8MP Samsung sensor (versus the 21MP + 8MP + 8MP Sony one from last year) with AI functionality.
The new rugged-phone is still based on a MediaTek Helio P70 (Cortex-A73/A53) octa-core processor with ARM Mali-G72 GPU that will be able to deliver more speed (+13%) and efficiency (+10-30%) than the Helio P60, as well as featuring a large 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels, 410 PPI) 20:9 screen with 1500:1 contrast ratio, teardrop notch and Corning Gorilla Glass. The 128GB memory will be more than enough to store videos, games, photo albums and apps of all kinds, while the 8GB of RAM will ensure smoother multitasking.
The operating system is Android 10 and, thanks to the new system via gestures, it allows you to launch apps, invoke the Google Assistant or navigate the menu with a swipe. Aimed primarily at outdoor sports lovers, the Doogee S88 Plus is designed to withstand the most extreme conditions thanks to IP68/IP69K and MIL-STD-810G certifications: it can fall from a height of 1.5 meters, stay underwater up to 2 meters deep for 30 minutes, withstand strong pressure or stay buried for hours without suffering any damage. And it also has a great survival software package for the unexpected: compass, sound level meter, height measurement, magnifying glass and many other essential outdoor apps.
Doogee S88 Plus inherits the “sporty” design of the Doogee S88 Pro, featuring angular lines, reinforced corners and two RGB LEDs under a black tempered glass plate, which light up in different colors depending on the notifications or app in use: blue for messages and calls, red for other notifications and blue/green/red for music.
Also on the back takes place the triple-camera consisting of a 48MP Samsung S5KGM1 AI main sensor, an 8MP 130° wide-angle and an 8MP macro. Hidden in the teardrop notch is the 16MP (80°) Samsung S5K3 camera for selfies. The equipment is completed by a 10000 mAh battery that should ensure a battery life of 10-15 days with normal use, an impressive 470 hours in standby and 47 hours of talk time. The smartphone also supports 5W reverse wireless charging, allowing you to charge other devices without cables in minutes. Also on board is the side fingerprint reader, facial recognition and NFC chip that will allow you to use Google Pay for contactless payments.
