Description

The competition is getting organized against DJI and its Mavic Mini and DJI Mini 2 under 250 grams! Hubsan’s Zino Mini Pro also weighs less than 250 grams, but it also has tools for detecting and avoiding obstacles in the front, back and bottom, as well as tracking and waypoint functions. Will they be efficient enough? The announced autonomy, 40 minutes, is impressive (a little too much even, to really believe it).

Appeared in a teaser yesterday, the Hubsan Zino Mini Pro has already gone viral, among fans and not. The latest addition (although not yet on the official store) of the Zino family, this small drone promises to upset the current standards, anticipating technical specifications that can put DJI and FIMI to shame.

As you can see it is a drone under 250g, flyable then without a certificate, which aims to declare war on the DJI Mini 2 and the new FIMI X8 Mini. By now, the market points to this segment of aircraft, which is conquering more and more users around the world and, consequently, manufacturers are focusing on the development of high-performance mini drones.

But in the case of the Zino Mini Pro, Hubsan has anticipated specifications that leave many users incredulous. If they were confirmed in fact, we would find ourselves in front of a drone that can totally zero the competition, integrating a series of technical solutions that are currently lacking in the reference drones for the category.

The Zino Mini Pro is a foldable drone weighing just 249g, equipped with brushless motors and a three-axis stabilized gimbal camera compartment. Up to here, nothing new under the sun.
But going into more detail of the photographic compartment we find that the CMOS sensor is 1/1.3″ with 48Mpx resolution (against 1/2.3 “CMOS 12Mpx of DJI and 1/2.6″ 12Mpx of FIMI) with f/1.85 and 6x optical zoom.

The H.265/HVEC recording codec reaches a bitrate of 200Mbps (DJI uses H.264) and the radio transmission is entrusted to the Syncleas 3.0 protocol, which guarantees a FHD@30FPS image return. Incredible also the endurance performance: Hubsan claims that the Zino Mini Pro has a range of 10Km and a flight time of 40 minutes (while the competition does not exceed 30 declared).

But that’s not all! This small drone will have as standard the sensors for the detection of obstacles in three directions, optional present only on drones of much larger size (and cost). These sensors should make the lion’s share of the Active Tracking ATVT 3.0 protocol managed by AI (practically something that, until now, we have only seen on the SkyDio II).
