Description
It’s not just Intel’s NUC. It is in an AMD Ryzen 5 configuration that MinisForum introduces its mini PC called DeskMini DMAF5. In its range of mini PCs, Intel has the NUC ( Next Unit of Computing ) which is a benchmark in this field. Nevertheless, MinisForum echoes some criticism about the slow improvement in performance to introduce the DeskMini DMAF5.
In a small size of 12.7 x 12.7 x 4.8 cm with a matte aluminum casing, the DeskMini DMAF5 opens from the top with a simple double press, making it easy to add memory, a SSD or even a hard drive. It is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 5 3550H mobile processor which offers 4 cores and 8 threads with a base frequency of 2.1 GHz and in Turbo mode of up to 3.7 GHz. Engraved in 12 nm, its nominal thermal envelope is 35 W.
Still, MinisForum ensures that thanks to its cooling system, going beyond this TPD is possible. With a large fan, operation would be quiet at low speed and less than 30dB. The graphics are provided by a Radeon Vega 8 graphics processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. This is in association with 8 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz RAM (and the possibility of up to 32 GB) and 256 GB of storage in M.2 NVMe SSD . The DeskMini DMAF5 can also accommodate a 2.5 inch SATA 3.0 hard drive.
Connectivity is Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 6 thanks to an Intel AX200 chip . The connection includes a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port on the front, 2 USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A ports, a 3.5 mm jack socket. On the back, there are 2 USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort and 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports.
Capable of running Windows 10, the DeskMini DMAF5 features a VESA mount standard bracket for installation that can be done on the back of compatible televisions or monitors.
