Ortur Obsidian 3D Printer With Fast Respone Automatic and Leveling Filament

The 3D printing market has been booming in recent months, and we have seen the arrival of new and better equipped machines, with an increase in the range of products, including smaller formats.

It is in a very competitive market that Ortur is launching its new generation of 3D printers with the Obsidian, a machine that is well equipped and that is moving up in the range.

For a few months now, a new range of machines has been arriving on the 3D printing market: with a fairly compact format, they are more and more equipped and see prices evolve between 200 and 300 euros.

We could thus see arriving the Ender 3 V2 (in our opinion largely overpriced with regard to the material proposed), the Artillery Genius (in Direct Drive) and the Biqu B1 (small nugget). It is now Ortur’s turn to draw his Obsidian.

The Obsidian offers a printing volume of 250x250x300 mm, with a particularly small footprint thanks in particular to an electronics fully embedded under the machine.

The printer features a dual Z-axis, 24V heating platen, the head is configured in direct drive with a BMG extruder with dual drive and 3:1 ratio for more torque and more precision in extrusion. There is a probe system for automatic leveling, a filament end detector and a color touch screen. Obsidian also offers belt tensioners and ply connectors to limit flying cables.

Small originality on the market: the machine embeds a 60 watt heating cartridge which allows a faster heating, and if the maximum temperature is set at 260 degrees, it can be unbridled in the firmware.
