Description

Two trees is a relatively unknown brand, they have two printer models with cubic chassis (Core XY): The Saphire S and the Pro. They just released the Bluer which is a small size but looks rather interesting on paper.

I start by mounting the upper part, you have to assemble the rails using the screws provided and put the shoes there to then adjust everything well on the base. There are no eccentrics on the elements which slide along the Z axis but it is very well adjusted there is no play. On the other hand, to screw the shoes on the base it is a another problem because the holes do not fall opposite, I have to play with my pliers to tighten the sheet and screw correctly.

The connectivity of the tray does not really inspire me with confidence, it would take a plastic protection as found on most printers because it is located just above an adjustment wheel. With the movements of the Y, the wires should not be stripped and come into contact with the fingers.

The plate is screwed on the support already present, it will be noted that the springs are blue and with a strong compression. This allows you to keep a more precise level setting. and less prone to go wrong after impressions. The magnetic surface sticks directly to the aluminum of the heating plate. I find that a small tab is missing to easily remove it after the print because it is cut exactly in square like the support.

This TWO TREES® BLUER 3D printer has a lot of advantages, the price is average (between 180 and 200 USD). Its size is small but allows a fairly decent printing surface for its size (235x235x280mm). It is silent even though some noises coming from the rigid plastic sheath are heard as well as some extraneous noises that I cannot identify. Remember to grease the threaded rod of the Z because it arrives dry.

Would I recommend it over an Ender 3? The price difference is minimal but the community is much stronger at Creality. In addition it is delivered as a kit which may put off some people who do not want to get their hands too dirty. However, it has basic options that the Ender 3 does not have such as the touch screen, electronics embedded in the base, belt tensioners, end of filament sensor, aluminum extruder, interchangeable drivers and a more complete and upgradeable motherboard. There are improvements to be made such as a suitable spool holder and a cable gland for the heating plate which I consider dangerous as it is.
