Smart refrigerators, electric mixers, electric kettles and much more: In China, Viomi, the publicly listed company from Xiaomi’s ecosystem, is a very popular smart home manufacturer. Accordingly, household appliances such as a battery-operated vacuum cleaner or the recently discovered Viomi S9 are also on the production schedule. What can the robot with suction station do?

The Proscenic M7 Pro and the Neabot NoMo are so similar not only because of the almost identical extraction station. It is not for nothing that the Lenovo T1 is assumed to be almost identical to one of the two models. Although the XCLEA H30 has a more modern extraction station, it is also very similar to the previously mentioned models. How to turn it around: Chinese suction robots with extraction station have a lot in common and often only differ in the respective app control or the design of the extraction station. And well, the Xiaomi Viomi S9 will have to put up with the comparison to other suction robots of this kind.

Well, instead of getting upset about it, it would be better to explain why there are suction stations for suction robots at all. And yes, it is an absolute luxury addition, after all, you could simply empty the 0.6L dust chamber yourself over the trash can.

Suction stations are charging stations and “emptying” the dust chamber in one – automated. When the robot drives to the station after cleaning, the battery is charged and the dust is sucked out of the dust chamber. The whole procedure can reach a volume of 80-90 dB, which most people find “unpleasantly loud”. For comparison, we humans talk at an average volume of 60 dB.

But now Viomi’s suction station is a little more stylish and informative than comparable models. On the Xiaomi white surface, there is an indication of when the dust bag needs to be replaced and the battery status of the suction robot.

2700 pa suction power, app control, laser room measurement, 3.5 h working time: Viomi is a manufacturer who makes things happen, not spills. Since we have had all Viomi models for testing here so far (most recently Viomi SE and V3), we can say that Viomi makes really good suction robots. Not always cheap, but powerful. We are also surprised that the brand receives so little attention in this country.

There are even two apps available for app control: Xiaomi Home (Android, iOS) or Viomi Robot (Android, iOS). And the functions in the apps are really clever: Live mapping with map storage of up to 5 floors makes it possible to use the robot with half the neighborhood in a row house. An electric water tank is also included, so you can specify the water flow rate in the app. Thus the Viomi S9 does two annoying household chores in one.
