ALLDOCUBE is another of Chinese manufacturers trying to get their slice of the pie in one of the most contested markets, but fortunately it does so with proposals worth taking into account when looking for an efficient and low cost Ultrabook. As an example of the above, we have the new ALLDOCUBE i7 Book, a well designed Ultrabook with Intel i7 CPU that sells for under 500 euros, a very competitive price for everything it offers.

Like any modern Ultrabook, the ALLDOCUBE I7BOOK follows in the wake of the MacBook Air and has a very familiar look. The i7Book chassis is made of aluminum, with a sandblast process on top. The material used here isn’t particularly high quality, but it doesn’t feel cheap either, and for what the device costs it’s hard to complain. Fortunately, there are no sharp edges or flimsy body sections.

Opening it reveals a spacious keyboard that, unfortunately, is not backlit; it is a simple keyboard with island keys and black color. The touchpad, on the other hand, is not bad at all, featuring a fairly spacious plastic surface compatible with Windows 10’s multitouch gestures. Finally, the i7Book measures 322 x 212 x 16.1 mm and weighs 1.35 kg, quite compact for a laptop of this size. Also, the only color presentation available is silver, which suits the computer quite well.

The space dedicated to the screen is well achieved for the economy that this laptop is, both the side bezels and the top bezel are thin and let us focus all our attention on the 14.1 inch screen that governs the structure. Speaking of screen, the ALLDOCUBE i7Book features an IPS panel with FullHD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) and density of 157 pixels per inch. The finish is matte and generally does not stand out in terms of brightness, color accuracy or viewing angles.

In this sense, if your main concern is the screen and you don’t mind sacrificing performance for a better visual experience, then you might be better off with the ALLDOCUBE Kbook, which is similarly priced to the i7Book, but boasts a screen with 3K (3,000 x 2,000 pixels) resolution and more vibrant colors.

The ALLDOCUBE i7Book is not bad in this aspect, in fact, quite the opposite, as it is one of the cheapest laptops on the market with i7 CPU, and although it is old (a quad-core i7-6660U and threads at 2.4Ghz- 3.4Ghz), it is still a powerful chip and suitable for everyday tasks for which it was designed, such as office tasks, web browsing and multimedia content playback.

The integrated graphics that accompanies this CPU is an Intel Iris Graphics 540, which obviously is not designed for gaming, but can easily handle low-demand games such as League of Legends and CS:GO, as well as streaming video in 4K and even 8K. This set is supported by 8GB of DDR4 RAM along with 256GB of SSD storage, which is quite fast and can be expanded thanks to the presence of an M.2 and a PCIE slot.

It is certainly not the most powerful set in the market, but for the price it is very good. As a reference point, we can take a look at the Cinebench R20 synthetic benchmark, where the ALLDOCUBE i7Book CPU scored 700 points, being above the Huawei Matebook 13 (2019), but below notebooks like the LG GRAM 13.

For its part, the battery is about 4,500mAh (51.3WH) and thanks to the low TDP of the equipment, it can offer up to 8 hours of local video playback, a commendable figure even for higher category equipment.

To finish this section, we can mention that the ALLDOCUBE i7Book is shipped with an activated copy of Windows 10 Home 64 bits without any kind of Bloatware installed and ready to be customized.

In terms of wireless connectivity, the ALLDOCUBE i7Book offers everything you would expect from its price range. It features dual-band Wi-Fi for connecting to the network and Bluetooth 4.2 for pairing with wireless devices.

On the other hand, the offer of physical ports is as generous as it can be in this market segment. On the left side we have a USB type C port with full functionality (including fast charging and video output), an HDMI 1.4 output and a USB 3.0 port. On the right side we get a 3.5mm headphone port along with two USB 3.0 ports and an SD memory card slot.
