Description
While the Sculpfun S10 laser engraving machine is still very new, the manufacturer launches the S30 series. It is necessary to speak about series because behind this new number are three machines of the same design with three levels of laser power:
- The Sculpfun S30 delivered with a 5 watt head like the S9
- The Sculpfun S30 pro which uses a 10 watt laser like the S10
- The Sculpfun S30 pro max which introduces a new 20 watt laser
These new names are reminiscent of smartphones that we are far away from and do not really give meaning to this new generation.
At first glance, the Sculpfun S30 series looks like the S10 with the same structure, the same new X-track and Air assist system on the head. The small evolution is the installation of end-stop. Not installing them in series was a weak point of the previous models because of the complexity and the ridiculous cost. The integration is quite basic considering the pictures.
The major innovation of this new series comes from the integration of an air assist pump compatible with an automatic activation via the Lightburn software.
In other words you can engrave a project engraving+cutting without having to pause to activate the pump. An evolution of the motherboard allows to turn on/off the pump on reception of the GRBL M8 command. I deduce that the S30 have the same problem as the S10 to have a deteriorated engraving quality when the air assist is active with this need to engrave without pump and cut with. Models like the Ortur Laser Master 3 or the Two Trees TS2 do not have this problem in these proportions. Sculpfun therefore automates the management of a defect which is not really optimal.
The latest development is the proposal of a 20 watt diode laser head on the S30 Pro Max model. This is a bit confusing when 10 watts are still new. This should objectively allow for cutting with fewer or faster passes.

J’ai choisi la scupfun s30 pro Max car je souhaitais faire essentiellement de la découpe laser : sa puissance laser 20 w est un très bon debut.
1- montage très facile et très bien expliqué avec la notice.
2 – qualité de la machine montée surprenante de précision et de stabilité
3- raccordements électriques tres bien expliqués et faciles à brancher et tres bien repérés.
Logiciel incontournable pour le fonctionnement : Lightburn . Très intuitif. Quand on paye une machine de découpe laser autour de 900 euros, le prix de lightburn (127 euros) est dérisoire.
Fonctionnement :
Petite galère pour le démarrage : lightburn propose et reconnaît la machine (sous un autre nom que sculpfun), mais problème de réglage impossible à trouver pour lancer une découpe (ou une gravure) Du coup, choix manuel en prenant machine GRB toute simple. Dialogue instantané entre lightburn et la sculpfun s30 pro max.
Découpe laser parfaite en une passe (700 en vitesse et 100% en puissance) sur une planche bois épaisseur 3 mm format A4 livrée (avec assistance automatique air) précision incroyable (effectivement 0,01 mm). Je pense que si on réduit la vitesse à 500, on peut descendre à 90 % de puissance. Tout cela s’apprend avec des tests suivant matières et épaisseur.
La sculpfun S30 Pro Max est conforme pour moi à ce que j’attendais d’un machine grand public. La découpe de cartons dans le cadre de scrap booking est un bonheur en précision et vitesse.
