ATOMSTACK A5 PRO

We have often talked about 3D printers. However, there is another category of printers, laser engraving ones, which are particularly interesting for professionals and creatives.

AtomStack A5 Pro is equipped with a 40W laser head that allows you to engrave wood, bamboo, cardboard, plastic, leather, printed circuits, aluminum oxide objects, lacquered metal. The printer can also be used to cut heavy papers, cardboard, non-woven, light wood, acrylic, thin plastic.

It is a product characterized by a large work surface (measuring 410 x 400 mm), useful for managing even the most demanding processes, and by a laser engraving precision of around 0.01 mm (laser wavelength About 455 nm).

The printer arrives already partially assembled so that the assembly of the final components takes place in just 5 simple steps and does not require more than 30 minutes of time to be completed.

In fact, it is sufficient to fix the four brackets that make up the base of the printer, hoist the laser head on the appropriate support, pass and firmly secure the belts that will be used by the electric motors of the machine for movements on the two axes. To surround the laser head, some transparent green plastic supports will have to be installed which will increase the level of protection offered by the goggles supplied.

AtomStack A5 Pro is a CNC ( computerized numerical control ) machine: this means that commands in GCode format must be used to communicate with it. It is a common basis for all machines of this type, regardless of the manufacturer, which allows you to indicate at which points to turn the laser on and off, how to move the head and what power to use.

In the case of the AtomStack A5 Pro engraving printer, communication takes place through the normal USB port (the cable is supplied) . However, it is essential to install the CH340 driver to simulate a COM port. In our case we have installed the LaserGRBL opensource software, which has now become a real point of reference in the sector.

To start engraving and cutting with a machine like AtomStack A5 Pro, just assemble it correctly then connect it to the electrical outlet, connect the USB cable to the PC then install and start the LaserGRBL software.

Once you have clicked on the Tools menu , Install CH340 Driver, the printer will immediately become usable. The correct port will automatically be selected in correspondence with the COM drop-down menu.
