NVISEN GLX258

NVISEN seems to be one of the lesser known laptop makers, but the brand has really been coming out with superb products for the money. We noticed that this time they debuted a new product in the store called NVISEN GLX258 which comes with a powerful Intel Core I9-9880H processor.

The Intel Core i9-9880H is a high-end processor for octa-core laptops based on the Coffee Lake architecture. The processor frequency ranges between 2.3 – 4.8 GHz and can execute up to 12 threads simultaneously thanks to Hyper-Threading. Thermal Velocity Boost” can be used to reach 4.8 GHz as long as the CPU temperature is below 50°C. This allows one core to be ramped to 4.8 GHz (+200 MHz). Multiple cores can be boosted to +100 MHz below 50°C. Compared to the previous Core i9-8950HK, the 9980H is based on the same architecture, but with 2 more cores.

On the outside, I think it’s a great design with a metal body and backlit keyboard, and has two large fans on the bottom for great cooling. It has 16GB of DDR4 RAM with two SO-DIMM slots, and a 512 GB M.2 SSD and a free SATA3 port for storage.

The NVISEN Y-GLX258 laptop has a 15.6-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a narrow bezel of just 5 mm, with a 1 MP camera found in the middle of the screen. In terms of connectivity, it has a USB Type-C 3.1 port, 3.5 mm audio jack, two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 and network connector and an HDMI 2.0 video output. The laptop has a battery capacity of 48Wh and the operating system is Windows 10 Home.
