Smart Vector Control System / Dual Disc Brake System / 20 inch Snow Tires / Multiple Battery Protection

Description

Visually, the e-bike cuts a good figure and is similar to the Fiido M1 e-bike we already tested. How well it performs will be shown in a test, because our copy has already arrived at our place.

Fat tires, roughly translated “thick tires”, have always been well received by the boys and girls in the car tuning scene. The wider the tire, the cooler the box. I don’t know if this can be projected directly onto e-bikes, but the ADO Z20C e-bike with 20×4 inch tires uses just such wide tires. The 350 watt vehicle with a range of over 20 km is available from $999.99 on Gearbest.com. We could already convince ourselves of the Fiido M1 of correspondingly large tires in an e-bike. Maybe the ADO Z20C can also score accordingly.

The frame construction of the ADO Z20C will have been seen in this form on other e-bikes or other manufacturers. The aluminum frame is foldable and makes the electrically driven bike a little more compact and halfway handy if needed. The weight is still a remarkable 29kg. The extra wide, so-called Fat Tire tires measure 20 x 4 inch width and are equipped with a conventional air tube. For braking there is a disc brake on the front and rear wheel. The braking distance should be 4 meters on dry roads and 6 meters on wet surfaces. Why they decided to use snow tires/profiles remains a mystery to me. The grip and the driving feeling would probably be a bit better with other off-road tires.

The integrated 350 Watt motor accelerates the vehicle to a maximum speed of 25 km/h. According to the manufacturer, the bike should be able to manage gradients of 25-30° with this performance without any problems. But only a test will show that, because I would not expect too much with the weight, the wide tires and the motor. The maximum allowed weight is 120kg.

The range of the 36V 10Ah Lithium battery is indicated with a little more than 20 km riding distance. But the range is as usual depending on the weight, the weather, the ground and the power of the system which can be called up in 3 steps. The whole thing is shown on a LC display as usual. There I have an overview of the current speed, the selected mode, the current distance, the total distance driven and the battery level.

Also a simple 7-speed Shimano gearshift with Bowden cable including Shimano M310 shift lever is installed on the handlebars. This also allows manual acceleration with a comfortable gear ratio. How high the resistance is when riding manually, can’t be said yet. Nevertheless, you will start sweating quite fast because of the wide tires.

Apart from that, various protective measures for the battery have been integrated, such as overvoltage protection, undervoltage protection, temperature protection, short-circuit protection and the like. There is no information about the charging time of the battery. Probably it will be 6-7 hours again.
