2. System: Android 11

We have been following rumors about Cubot KingKong 5 Pro since the beginning and since a few days the new rugged-phone from the Chinese company is official. We’re talking about an ultra-rugged terminal (IP68/IP69K and MIL-STD-810G certified) with a 48MP main camera, a valid hardware compartment and a now mature user interface.
Ideal for outdoor activities, sports or work, Cubot KingKong 5 Pro is designed to survive in any harsh environment. Thanks to its aluminum frame, thickened on the four corners with high-strength material, this smartphone does not fear falls, bumps, dust, adverse weather conditions, temperature changes and can even be immersed in water up to 1.5 meters deep for 30 minutes without suffering any damage. And that’s not all, because it has a “survival kit”, a set of apps that could come in handy in emergency situations for adventurous hikers: compass, sound level meter, magnifying glass, protractor and so on.
As with all the brand’s rugged-phones, The KingKong 5 Pro is also a battery-phone. According to data provided by the company, the 8000 mAh battery should ensure up to 27 days in standby, as many as 39 hours of talk time and 2-4 days with normal use. And if it does run out of power, thanks to 24W fast charging via USB-C, it will be able to refuel in a matter of minutes so you can get right back up and running.
As anticipated, the Cubot KingKong 5 Pro integrates an octa-core MediaTek Helio A22 processor. It’s paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage, which should provide better power efficiency (+14%), superior performance (+15%), read/write speeds with an increase of 63.66% and 26.64% respectively. The smartphone comes with Android 11, so it will enjoy all the features of the OS from dark mode to a simple and intuitive UI.
This phone integrates a 6.1-inch HD+ (1560 x 720 pixels) screen with 282PPI pixel density and Corning Gorilla Glass to protect it from scratches and drops. There’s no shortage of 2W stereo speakers, Google Pay-compatible NFC chip, 4G-LTE (dual-SIM), WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou, a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microSD card reader to expand storage up to 256GB. On one side, there is also a fingerprint reader and a customizable button that can activate a few apps of your choice: audio recording, flashlight, screenshots, underwater camera, SOS and game mode.
