2. CPU: Intel i3-1005G1
3. 13.5 inches 2256 x 1504 IPS screen
Description
The Kuu X13 is an ultra-portable of the brand with three evocative letters. After several machines released in 2020 and evolutions of these first models, the X13 is a real novelty. It stands out in particular by its diagonal and the choices made for its display. The machine is a 13.5″, a rather rare format and for good reason, it requires the choice of a 3:2 slab with an aspect ratio different from the classic 16:9 and 16:10. More oriented towards the display of documents, web pages and practical for certain uses such as programming, 3:2 is less popular than the more wide formats that favor multimedia uses. But this is not necessarily a disadvantage for this model. It will have to fight against fewer potential competitors.
The tile is IPS type and offers a high definition of 2256 x 1504 pixels with 100% sRGB certified colorimetry and surrounded by thin 5 mm screen borders. This does not prevent the machine from hosting a basic 1 megapixel webcam and a microphone for video conferencing.
On board the Kuu X13, we discover an Intel Ice Lake processor, a Core i3-1005G1 which offers two cores and 4 threads. This chip, engraved in 10 nanometers, operates in 15 watts of TDP between 1.2 and 3.4 GHz with 4 MB of cache memory. It embeds a classic Intel UHD graphics circuit. Around this chip, there are 8 GB of DDR4L RAM and 256 GB of SSD storage in SATA 3.0 format. No information as for a possible possibility of updating these components. If one suspects that the SSD SATA will be removable, there is no information as for a possible change of RAM. These amounts are not ridiculous and it will be possible to carry out most of the classic tasks with this type of equipment.
The connections are classic for this type of machine with an independent charging jack port, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a 3.5 mm combo audio jack port, a MicroSD card reader, an HDMI output and a USB Type-C port offering all available functions. It will therefore be able to charge the device, transfer USB or Ethernet data and carry a DisplayPort video signal. The Kuu X13 will therefore be able to drive 3 displays in all, including its own screen and its two video outputs. The native network part will be provided by a Wifi5 and a non-detailed Bluetooth module. A pair of stereo speakers is also integrated in the chassis.
The keyboard part is entrusted to a backlit QWERTY Chiclet. The stroke of the keys is classic with 1.35 mm for a width of 19.05 mm per letter. The touchpad is wide and deep and it offers a fingerprint reader to drive your authentications under Windows. The integrated battery is a 5000 mAh 45.6 Wh given as offering about 6 hours of autonomy depending on use. The brand also indicates that the device can benefit from a fast charge with 80% autonomy. The vehicle weighs 1.4KG and measures 18.6 mm at its thickest point, the mark does not specify its width or depth.

Jim Smith –
Recently obtained one of these and am very impressed. It feels well-built, boots up quickly, the screen quality is excellent and the cooling system is whisper-quiet.
