NIUBILITY B14

When it comes to cost-effective electric bikes, the Chinese market has several solid options to offer, such as the Fiido D11 or the Samkebike XWXL09, and this time we’ll be taking a closer look at another product that falls into the same category: the Niubility B14.

Meanwhile, in the back we will find a horizontal surface that serves to add a plot or trunk. However, it is not recommended to mount a second passenger on it, since the engine is not designed to support loads exceeding 120 kilograms. This electric bike is quite compact, something that is denoted by its 14-inch wheels, and to our knowledge there is no model that makes use of 20-inch wheels or anything like that.

In this sense, the Niubility B14 has a folding mechanism to reduce the space occupied by the bike when storing or charging it; it even has a carrying handle just under the seat tube. With just two steps that consist of releasing the latches and folding the body inwards, the bike measures from 122 x 49 x 108cm to 71 x 37 x 64 cm. The weight obviously remains the same, at 21.5 kilograms.

The rest of the construction is not so impressive, it has mudguards, headlights, a padded seat and IP54 certification against water and dust; the latter means that it can be used during rainy days normally, but you should still avoid submerging the bike at all costs.

Additionally, on the right side of the handlebar there is a small monochrome LCD display, which serves to indicate the battery status, current speed and also to switch between the 3 available pedal assistance modes. Just below the screen is the place where the key must be inserted in order to start the vehicle, a detail that is appreciated in this price range. In case you’re wondering, the accelerator is also on the right side of the handlebar.

The Niubility B14 is powered by a competent 400W brushless motor that can reach a speed of up to 25 kilometers per hour and climb slopes of up to 25° degrees of inclination with few problems. However, it is an electric bike that lacks a gearbox and a torque sensor, which means it starts exclusively with the pedal sensor. This bike can be used in both electric and pedal-assist modes. It also offers the user 3 electric assistance modes, or rather, 3 speeds: 15, 20 and 25 km/h; these are managed by the onboard computer and it is possible to consult which one is selected through the LCD screen.

For an economical electric bike, the Niubility B14 has a pretty decent shock absorber system (front and rear) that, in conjunction with the padded saddle, does a good job of reducing vibrations and impacts produced by bumps and road irregularities. Finally, the Niubility B14 has a double-disk brake that ensures balanced and effective braking.
