OUKITEL WP8 Pro Rugged Phone With NFC and Google Pay

Oukitel is on a launching spree as the company is actively unveiling new smartphones under different pricing segments. After launching Oukitel C21, WP7, the company is readying the WP8 Pro rugged smartphone. The upcoming smartphone’s first render has propped on the web featuring rear design along with its triple camera module. Here’s the first glimpse of the smartphone featuring some exemplary durable design.

The Oukitel WP8 Pro is a very large and heavy smartphone. However, Oukitel has used the space wisely to give the smartphone a large 6.49 inch Full-HD display and protection. Typical for an outdoor smartphone, the Oukitel WP7 has a robust housing with metal and plastic elements. Bumpers are used at the corners to protect the smartphone from damage in the event of a fall. The display is also extra protected by a raised frame. According to the manufacturer, falls from a height of up to 1.5 meters should not be a problem. The smartphone is also dustproof to IP68 standard and protected against permanent immersion, and a MIL-STD-810G certification is also advertised. In addition, the Oukitel WP7 should be able to withstand increased humidity (up to 90%), high pressure (57kPa) and temperatures up to 49°C.

A couple of renders have appeared bringing forth the smartphone’s design aspects. We can see a triple rear camera circular module that sits on the rear side of the smartphone. The rubber and metal material gives it an overall solid design. The toughened corners of the device provides an extra layer of protection which reduces the impact during any usual fall.

Moreover, the fingerprint sensors are present on the right side of the device providing easy accessibility. Overall, the holistic design gives it a durable and sporty look. It is a bit slimmer than normal rugged smartphones and even feels lighter.

Shortly after the release, the smartphone will be sold at a reduced price of $199.99. For this price the manufacturer offers with the WP8 Pro in addition, an outdoor Smartphone, which washed itself. With the Helio P23 a strong processor is available, which is supplemented by large memory modules. A 6.49 inch Full-HD display should also be suitable for comfortable use and in addition, with IP68 there is also the appropriate protection class for the outdoor bolide. It will be exciting to find out whether the modules and the infrared camera represent real added value in practice.
